The emergence of high performance and low cost spacecraft components, driven primarily by the maturing CubeSat industry, has enabled a new class of small satellites that provide high performance at a low cost.

SCOUT is a visible imaging microsatellite capable of 1.0 meter visible imagery at nadir, alternate Earth imaging payloads are available based on customer needs. SCOUT is based on the Spaceflight SENTRY 4000 satellite bus. The spacecraft has a nominal cross section of 40 x 46 cm and, in the stowed launch configuration, is 84 cm in length. At approximately 50-55 kg wet mass depending on customer configuration, it can be launched in both a horizontal and vertical orientation as a secondary payload on a variety of launch vehicle platforms.
