MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

BS in Electrical Engineering with minimum 5 years, or MS in Electrical Engineering with at least 3 years of relevant technical and managerial experience is highly desired. Must be United States Citizen.

DUTIES SPECIFIC TO THIS POSITION:

The ideal electrical engineer candidate will be responsible for designing high performance PCB assemblies for space applications and love making small, tricky…stuff. Daily activities include, but are not limited to, board layout, route, schematics capture, system performance predictions using simulations, component selection, derating analyses, prototype test and checkout. Several years of experience developing space qualified avionics / electronics is desired, but an overall passion for electronics and electro-mechanical design is even more valuable. This position will serve as a focal point within the company for new board design and development, maturation and evolution of existing products, and be a direct contributor to the advancement of both our current and future avionics products. We seek innovative, creative and self-motivated individuals that are passionate about space and the challenges of designing complex, high-performance products. You must find the idea of building a satellite and satellite technology intriguing. You must have a high level of comfort with electronics lab equipment and testing your own designs. SKILLS NEEDED:

The ideal candidate will have direct spacecraft operational and avionics / electronics design, fabrication, test and integration experience. This includes executing all elements of the product design cycle including:

  • System architecture development (system schematics)
  • PCB Design / Layout using Altium
  • Procuring / populating PCBs
  • PCB Test and Checkout
  • Board test and checkout
  • Design verification
  • Desired: Radiation / EMI / EMC provisions
  • Desired: Derating analyses
  • Desired: Test plan development and execution
  • Desired: Experience with ROHS parts
