MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of five years of direct professional experience in a laboratory environment, performing assembly, test and or repair work. Preferred experienced in high-tech medical, aerospace or other electronics manufacturing environment. MUST BE U.S. CITIZEN.

DUTIES SPECIFIC TO THIS POSITION:

This successful candidate for position will be responsible for mechanical assembly, integration and test of satellite products and components, satellite buses satellites, launch vehicle adapters and dispensers and related equipment destined for spaceflight applications. Candidate will be expected to follow detailed work instructions and interpret mechanical drawings, complete work orders, perform test procedures, and document results and data. Regular interaction with other technicians, engineering and management drives need for good communication skills. They will also perform a variety of technical functions related to the support of engineering activities such as set up, operation, maintenance, modification, testing, calibration and troubleshooting of mechanical or electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, development of prototype models or specialized test equipment. While this role is primarily focused on mechanical tasks, cross-functional support may be required at times in the area of electronics test and checkout. In addition, they will:

• Perform test procedures, troubleshoot issues, and develop diagnostics prototype modes.
• Execute Work Instructions
• Assemble electronics racks, jigs and test fixtures
• Assemble cables and harnesses, structures and electro-mechanical systems
• Perform product and system testing, dimensional measurement, environmental testing
• Setup work stations, perform preventative maintenance and calibration of equipment and tools
• Complete assembly documentation
• Some manual lifting may be required to assemble and move equipment throughout the labs and highbay

SKILLS NEEDED:

• Demonstrated experience with hands-on mechanical assembly, integration and test
• Demonstrated experience following test procedures, work instructions and assembly documentation
• Demonstrated experience interpreting mechanical drawings, performing dimensional checks and use of wide-variety of lab measurement equipment
• Experience in a lab environment
• Experience in a regulated environment such as AS9100C, ISO9001 or similar
• Familiarity with standard shop hand tools and power tools
• Familiarity with checking out equipment and parts from an inventory management system
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools
